Octopus Meatballs Recipe of of 03-09-2017 [Updated on 27-07-2018]

The octopus meatballs they are so small that you can eat them in one bite because they are tasty, delicious and not too elaborate. Octopus meatballs can be brought to the table as an appetizer or main course, for an informal meal and for a finger food dinner, in short, you can choose the best way to consume them.
I ate them for the first time in Greece, where they know how to do with fish dishes, and I admit that I immediately fell in love with them.
Once at home I decided to propose the dish again and I must say these fish balls made by me (I will seem presumptuous but it is the truth) are even better than those tasted at the restaurant, a real delicacy. Try the recipe and you will agree with me;)

How to make octopus meatballs

Start cleaning the octopus and remove its beak.

Then put it in a large pot with water, bay leaf, pepper and onion.
Cook it for about 30 minutes after boiling.
When it is cooked, let it cool and cut it into small pieces.

In a pan, fry the garlic with the oil, then put the chopped octopus and the basil.
Let it flavor for about 10 minutes, stirring.

Now transfer the octopus to a small bowl and add the bread (softened in water and squeezed), egg, pecorino cheese and salt.
Mix everything together.

With the mixture obtained, form small meatballs and cover them with breadcrumbs.

Fry with a drizzle of oil in a pan until golden.

Your octopus meatballs are ready to be served.
