Pumpkin sandwiches recipe of 29-10-2013 [Updated on 05-10-2015]
The pumpkin sandwiches were a very successful experiment last week, I had some pumpkin to dispose of and a desire for a different bread than usual, I saw on a blog (here) this technique to make the bread just in the shape of a pumpkin and here I am here. The recipe is in full halloween style, it is easy to make and fast enough and success is guaranteed, but if you do not have the desire and time you can also make simple round loaves, the visual effect will lose a lot but certainly not the taste. Last thing, the pumpkin bread has a fairly neutral flavor, I accompanied it both with cold cuts and with Nutella and in both cases I liked it a lot, so the choice is yours. I greet you and leave you to the recipe, a kiss and good day
Cut the pumpkin into cubes and steam it for 20 minutes, alternatively you can bake it in the oven at 200 ° C, again for 20 minutes.
Once the pumpkin is cooked, blend it with a mixer until it is pureed.
Put the flour in a bowl, make a hole in the center and, once almost cold, pour the pumpkin puree.
Knead by gradually combining the milk with the yeast.
Add salt and oil and knead until you get a soft dough.
Let rise under a cloth until doubled.
Then, once the dough has doubled, divide it into 6 sandwiches.
Each loaf must be tied like a caciocavallo. Make 8 turns of string to obtain the 8 slices of the zucchini.
Let it rise again, for at least another half hour, already on the pan you will use to cook them, covered with baking paper.
Bake the pumpkin rolls at 180 ° C for 20 minutes. Then let it cool, remove the string and serve.
