Britney Spears Threw the Best Kids Birthday Party of 2016… Really

Edible Pikachu and Snorlax cake pops: This birthday party was two Pokémon-lovers’ dream come true

Britney Spears has shown she's the best kids' party host of 2016.

When you think of the ultimate party host, Britney Spears may not be the first person who comes to mind. She’s had a tumultuous career of super high highs and incredibly low lows, but 2016 seems to really be her year. She’s released a new album, and now, as proof of her full recovery and dedication to being a mom, she hosted the best kids birthday party of 2016 for both of her sons last weekend.

Her two boys, Sean and Jayden — who have just turned 11 and 10, respectively — are both super keen on the recent revival of the Pokémon craze thanks to the launch of Pokémon Go earlier this year. The worldwide Pokémon madness that followed this game’s release did not pass Spears by, which was lucky for her two sons.

Both her boys were totally thrilled, as almost every kid of that age would be, when they arrived at their birthday party to find that their mom had set up a spectacular Pokémon-themed do. It really was every Pokémon-player’s dream come true.

With personalized Poké Balls, edible Pikachu cakes, Snorlax cake pops, and Squirtle and Charmander also making an appearance on the party’s dessert table, it’s clear that Spears knows her Pokémon as well as the boys do: No detail was missed in this beautiful spread, which clearly made her two boys incredibly happy.

Britney Spears: 'I'm nervous' for sons to become teenagers

LONDON, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Britney Spears is dreading the day when her sons become teenagers.

The 34-year-old singer shared her fears for 11-year-old Preston and 10-year-old Jayden while appearing on the ITV talk show Lorraine.

"They're little pranksters," she said. "I'm nervous, because I know 12 and 13 and 14 and 15 is going to be really scary, and I'm going to be like, 'Mom, please come to the house and help me out here!' But right now it's a great age. They're still babies."

Spears said she herself is very happy in her thirties after going through a difficult time in her twenties. The star had a highly-publicized meltdown in 2007 and was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold the next year.

"I like my thirties way more than my twenties. Twenties were horrible," she admitted. "My teens was fun, but I like thirties. Thirties is great. You know who you really are . I'm in a really good place right now."

Spears shares Preston and Jayden with ex-husband Kevin Federline, from whom she split in 2006. The singer, who threw her sons a Pokemon-themed birthday party this month, had told People in 2015 that her kids "come first in [her] life, bottom line."

"Preston is very opinionated, very expressive," she shared. "He has a huge heart, he's a good kid and he has manners. Jayden is sweet, very soft-spoken, kind funny. He's adorable -- a momma's boy."

Spears last released the album Glory in August, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.
